All media will be accepted.

All character types will be accepted. Feel free to use Mary-Sues, Gary-Lous, and god-mods! No weapons of mass destruction though, please. The instant obliteration of the entire area is probably something we can’t work around.

If you have to forfeit, please note the group.

:star: Auditions! :star:
So, what should you include when you’re auditioning? Long story short, it needs to detail your character's journey from the black box, to the tournament. They can walk, they can be teleported, however you like. Aside from that there are only two things you should include:
1. They should meet Veronica. She will show them to their homes.
2. The note in the featured folder is on their bed. Whether they read it or not is up to them.
3. Auditions simply begin your character’s story; no one will be officially accepted or rejected on the basis of this entry.
4. Do not succumb to laziness. Make us care! This will be our introduction to your character. Why is your character here? We want to know that you care, and your audition is our first look at your resolve.

"I have questions/concerns/suggestions. What do I do?"
Note us! The group will respond in a day or so.

"What is an OCT anyway?"
An Original Character Tournament is, essentially, a dog-fighting ring for characters of the creator’s own design. The matchups are randomized.

"So, when will this OCT start?"
As soon as we get enough characters!

"What is the theme?"
The Once-Dead OCT brings back characters that have “died” either literally, or figuratively. You might have forgotten, abandoned, or neglected them for any number of reasons, but they’re back. And their final prize for competing, is a chance to rewrite a portion of their own story.

What your character wants, be it aiming for a better life or even redemption, that is up to them.
That is, if they can survive each other.

"What characters can be accepted?"
Anyone and anything! They just have to be an old one (or ones), whose stories have been scrapped or put on a hiatus that turned into hibernation.

"Can I have a team of characters?”
Yes, however there is one caveat with this this. By the first round, you have to let us judges know if someone is going to interact with the storyline. This includes random spirits and whatnot. Overall, you may have a cap of two contestants, and four characters total. “NPC”s should not directly affect the outcome of your round.

"Can I (as the creator) interact with my character?”
Potentially. At the beginning send off, feel free to say your heartfelt goodbyes. (Or have them bitch at you about you leaving them to die in some horrific way) While inside the compound, however, creators cannot interact with their creations. There is, however, one way around this. Within the second tower there’s actually a singular phone that allows a person to speak to the outer world. This tower is under the dominion of Deadberry, so the conversation, will likely need to be short.

"Will there be prizes?"
Yes, but more on that as the time goes on.

"Are artist collaborations allowed?"
You can, but the prize will be split between your team.

"How many slots will be filled?"
The optimal number is 64, but if we can’t get that many, we will weed down to 32.

"Can I make spectator entries?"
Yep, we’ll have a folder for them.

"Is death allowed?"
Sometimes it will be encouraged! However, on a normal basis, yes; death is allowed. If you don’t like it, ask your opponent to leave you some space to return your character in your reference sheet.

"How explicit can the content of my entries be?"
If you’re ever in doubt, use the “Mature Content Filter” just to be safe.

"How strict is this group?"
Depends on what you mean. If you’re talking about characters, weapons, or style, we’re pretty lenient. In terms of deadlines, it’s exactly that. A deadline. There are some grace period rules, but those will be explained in a bit.

"Who's judging and hosting this?"
crazyshiro is the main judge and host. There will also be Buroe, Aegypius-X, Sesura and WithAQuillInMyHand

“How long are the rounds?”
Three weeks! These new, standardized rounds are to help you all keep your deadlines.

“What kinds of media are allowed?”
Any and all! Comics, writing, splash panels, and flash are all encouraged!

“Whatever became of that animation idea of yours?”
The problem is that we never quite stopped in order to allow this idea to take flight.
We would still like to make it, but we lost momentum on both ends and need to see who is still interested.

“What was going on with those creator rounds, anyway?”
During the first season, Shiro and Aegy decided that they wanted to join in on the shenanigans of the rounds, eventually adding other creators to their party. Originally intended to be a sideplot, it eventually got tied into the main storyline. Due to the end of season one, creators are now unable to interact with those within the barriers (the black box) of our establishment.

Remember, if you have any questions please note us.

Expectations:

Three weeks from assignment to work on your rounds.

:new: The (current) grace system:

Initially contestants start at tier zero and as they continue to not spend it, the grace period continues to grow. If you to use your grace period then it's back to tier zero.

Teir 0: 5 minutes
Tier 1: 15 minutes
Tier 2: 30 minutes
Tier 3: 1 hour
Tier 4: 1 day
Tier 5: 1 week

A one week judging period for round results.
Your character may die: What happens then? Regardless of death or loss, your character is returned back into your black box.
Expect quirky rounds: Unsurprisingly, most of these rounds will have you competing against another character, however the prompts will be varying, some of them being downright odd to write for. Prepare yourself.

Is there an over-arcing theme to this season? I remember a discussion in chat about something along those lines.
